Im Sinne einer Neuausrichtung des Landwirtschaftsbetriebs wurde beschlossen die Milchproduktion zu erweitern, was den Neubau eines Kuhstalls nötig machte. An dieser hügeligen Lage sollte sich das Gebäude harmonisch in die Landschaft einfügen. Ausserdem sollten natürliche Elemente verwendet werden, die in der Umgebung zu finden waren. Trotzallem soll das Gebäude seine eigene architektonischen Präsenz bewahren und auch den industriellen Charakter der Landwirtschaft widerspiegeln.

As the farm needed a new orientation the decision fell on the increase of milk production and a new cow barn had to be built. On this hilly site the building should fit harmonically into the landscape. Furthermore natural materials which could be found in the surroundings should be incorporated. All the same it should be a building with its own architectural presence which reflects also the industrial character of agriculture.
